Mission of the Month - October
Education, Awareness & Support of Freedon

We’re supporting “She Is Safe” in Roswell, which works to rescue girls and women from human trafficking internationally.
Some of the events planned include:
●  A Ladies Night Out special event onThursday evening, November 2nd at the home of Karen Whaley and includes light hors d’oeuvres and a WorldCraft silent auction to benefit “She Is Safe”;
●  A “Freedom Table” display of auction products during Wednesday supper gathering.

   November 13-16- Pigeon Forge Get-A-Way.  A unique experience of fellowship, shopping, and top notch shows.
   December 1-4: Historic Williamsburg, includes the Grand Illumination.

Other Announcements

Local School Employee’s Appreciation Night: Wed. Night Supper Oct. 25th, school employees will receive a complimentary meal, but you must RSVP to the church office prior to the date. Don’t forget to wear your school colors or T-shirt to show support for your school & employees.

Operation Christmas Child: begins October 15th! Pick up your shoebox and brochure, and fill that shoebox for a boy or girl around the world. Shoeboxes will be dedicated on November 12th. Shoeboxes are available outside the sanctuary on the piano side. Pick yours up today!

Alive Bible Study: Senior High Students October 22, 2017 at 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM in the Joy House. Bible study led by Barry and Angie Hensley. Snacks will be served.

Boys and Girls Winter Basketball League: Ages 7-15 boys and 7-12 girls. Registration has begun. Cost is $80 per child and you can register your child online or at church. Please turn in forms and payment to Robert. Practices begin October 22nd and 23rd.  >>Online Registration Form

Youth Monthly fellowship: For 6th-12th graders on September 24th in the Joy House from 6:30 pm-8pm. Snacks and games in the gym.

SALT Ministry: Our next SALT Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, October 17th. The annual Apple Trip will be Tuesday, October 24th. Game Days are back! Save the dates. October 31, November 28, and December 19.  Bring your lunch and join us from 12:30 PM until 4:00 PM in the Joy House.

Cake Walk: We need cakes, cookies, cupcakes, or $$ donations. Contact Jessica at,, or the church office. Items are needed by October 21st. Thank you for your help!

Young Musicians Choir: will sing October 15th at 6:45 p.m. for the Deacon Ordination Service. Director: Maryann Tyler

First Grade Choir: Will sing October 15th at 11 am worship. Director: Tonya Corbett

Music Makers Choir: will sing October 22nd at 11:00 AM worship service. Director: Lydia Hays.

You can help hurricane victims while staying healthy yourself: Publix is giving away a $10 gift card when you get a flu shot. With this $10 card, you can help hurricane victims buy fresh food and water for their families. Get your flu shot at Publix and bring that gift card with you to church. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by the recent Hurricanes.

Date Night: Join us for Fight Night on Saturday, November 4th, from 5 PM- 8 PM! We’ll play fun games, eat great food, and learn how to “fight for your us.” Sumo suits and rock ‘em sock ‘em robots included! $20 a couple, childcare and dinner from Moe’s included. RSVP to Jessica at

Church Wide Covered Dish Luncheon: Sponsored by the Recreation committee. Sunday, November 12th, 12 Noon – 3 PM in the gym. Fried chicken and drinks will be provided. Bring your favorite covered dish and enjoy an afternoon of great Food, Fellowship, and Fun. They’ll be games for all ages!
