This Week at FBRoswell
Activities this week at First Baptist Roswell
Mission of the Month for June 2018
Services in June: As we did last year, we will be having the 8:30AM service in the Chapel during the month of June. The 11:00AM service will be in the Sanctuary.
Services in July: There will be no 8:30AM service during the month of July. We will only have Sunday School at 9:45AM and the 11:00AM service.
A note about Summer: Last year, the ministers decided to start dressing in accordance with the church calendar. During special times of year like Advent and Lent, the ministers wear liturgical robes in recognition of the significance of the season. During June and July, the ministers will be dressed more casually. As always, we encourage you to dress as you feel comfortable, regardless of the time of year.
Sermon Series:In June and continuing through the month of August, Dr. Head will be focusing on the many parables of Jesus in the new sermon series, "Gospel Living."
Faces of FBR: In an effort to celebrate all the wonderful events, activities and mission projects here at FBR, we are going to be displaying pictures of FBR events all around the church. If you take photos at church events, we want to see them! This will be an ongoing project, and we will change pictures out as new events occur. Send pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org, and they just might end up on the wall or on the website! (JPEG format. No larger than 1MB. Resolution 300dpi for wall and 72dpi for website).
Appalachian Outreach: July 8-12. Mark your calendars now for this wonderful opportunity to serve God and serve others. If you are interested in joining our team and helping us rebuild the home of a well-deserving family, contact Steve Morton: email@example.com or Steve Donaldson.
Volunteers needed for Community Outreach: Help us share our church with the Roswell community! Sign up to be a trolley ambassador or volunteer to tell people about our church at our booth on the Square for Alive in Roswell. Dates needed are: May 17th, June 21st, July 19th, August 16th, September 20th, and October 18th. Bring a friend and sign up! Shifts are 5pm-7pm, and 7pm- 9pm. SALT Peach Trip: Join us Wednesday, July 11. We will go to Lane's Peach Orchard, Brown's Farm Market, and Ellis Pecan Company. Lunch will be on your own at Yoder's Family Restaurant. Cost is $35. We will leave the church at 8:00AM and return around 6:00PM (No Pastor's Bible Study in July). Call Ira in the church office to sign up by Monday, July 2nd.
“Save the Date” Sunday, August 19th – Children’s Choirs Registration and Rehearsal: Please mark your calendars for Children’s Choirs Registration at 5:15PM followed by Children’s Choirs Rehearsal at 5:30PM. Parents should receive an information letter in the mail the first week of August detailing the Children’s Choirs program. This year’s theme is “Color Your World With Music” and you will see “splats” of color around the church announcing the beginning of our new choir year!
Volunteer Needed: Our Media Center is in need of a dedicated volunteer to help out one Sunday a month from 9AM-12PM. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to share their love of reading with other church members, all while serving the Lord. Contact Cynthia (404)775-5009, if interested.
Helping the Church Office Can Be a Blessing for You and The Church: We are in need of volunteers to answer the phone and greet guests coming into the church office. If you would like to help, please contact Chris Rowe at 770-587-6980 or email him, firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Conversation About Theological Education: If you are interested in the current status of theological education and what it means for the future of the church, Dr. Head and Dr. Hamilton invite you to join them for a brief informational session on Thursday, June 28th at 8:00AM in the Joyhouse. Coffee and refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by signing up online, calling the church office or stopping by the Information Center. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Head or Dr. Hamilton.
Thank You: Your Flag Work Volunteer Committee would like to thank everyone who donated to our fund to replace our FLAGS. In the very FIRST week you gave more than enough money to pay for 50 new flags which will be displayed over the Fourth of July Holiday. God bless you and our great country!
Stop by the Information Center: You can find flyers for all our upcoming events, pick up a copy of “Thrive” to give to friends/family, or sign up to donate flowers for the Sanctuary. Plus, our volunteers are more than happy to help you sign up for events like the SAFE Seminar. Our Information Center is located right outside the Sanctuary on the piano side. Hope to see you there!
